Suggestions

So I was playing tonight some, and I have some suggestions.

GUI transparency, definitely needed. Possibly an adjustable transparency level? I know its probably in the plan already but thought I would mention it.

NPC speech, these mobs spam the chat window, maybe make the aggro text a bubble above them and not show in chat?

Also noticed currently all of the mobs have the same HP, probably need some variance there.

All in all I enjoy it so far, will be awaiting updates patiently.

Thanks for the suggestions. Transparency, yes, we will add that eventually. Right now the GUI library we are using doesn't support it, which is why we haven't done it yet. We'll have to modify the library to support it.

NPC speech, yep that annoys me a little bit too. I've made a task for it for the future.

Right now all the mobs are basically just for testing certain things. When we get to doing real content all this stuff will be removed and everything balanced properly.

Side note, I just got a raspberry pi3 to use for emulation. Thinking now perhaps I could get pikia running on it.

Are you going to run Linux on it? Pikia should be able to run fine on a 3rd gen Raspberry Pi... if you need help getting it working let me know. smile

Just need to get another SD card for the pi. Have retropie running on it currently, but could put a Linux OS on another SD card.

Im going to try Ubuntu  MATE on it, only issue might be the Pi3 isnt really capable of a 64 bit OS. Not sure if I can make Pikia run on a 32 bit (saw the instructions say 64bit)

We can compile 32bit clients pretty easily. When I get a chance I will add a 32bit option for the Linux client download.

Alright new release new suggestions.

So I found that my characters stats didn't quite reset when I first changed class, it was some time later, either when I first learned a skill, or when the server saved. Kinda weird.

Second, the mage spell fireball is far weaker than the any class blue flame. Im one shotting everything with blue flame, while fire ball does 13 damage. Correction I one hit spooks, I do 39 damage with blue flame. 3x as much with an any class skill seems kinda weird. Second update, I leveled up fireball, and now do less damage with it than before, only 10 damage.

Third, is wisdom spell meant to completely recover your MP? Seems OP as hell, and kind of unneeded if you build high int.

Warriors: Basic attack does more damage than their skills. Why invest in skills?

Thanks for the feedback. Right now the skills are just placeholders really, no work has been put into balancing them. Balancing will come soon when we start doing the content.

I'll have to look into the stats reset thing again, when I was testing it was working fine so will see what's going on.

Wisdom is meant to just add wisdom it shouldn't be recovering MP.

Can you try to reproduce the stats problem? It seems fine to me.

I have fixed the wisdom bug (will be in next release)

Havent reproduced it, I have 3 characters Im using right now, when I get a little time again Ill try and see if it happens again. When I changed my test to warrior it reset fine.

Fireball, Explosion and the Priest heal are all based on Wisdom rather than Int. Didn't personally check the leveling it lowering the damage problem though.

Edit: After testing Fireball seems to raise in damage as it's supposed to when leveling it. (it starts at 8 with no wisdom added/without the buff) My best guess would be that pre-leveling it you had the wisdom buff on.

What ability is Poison supposed to use as its damage base? I tried all of them, investing 1 point at a time. Even with no ability it still does 9x5 damage, which puts it pretty high up there(I'm lvl 13 and it out-damages my class-based skills).

Does LUCK currently perform any function? I Don't expect that it does, I'm sure there is no CRIT function in the game yet, so just wondering.

Maser, Poison currently does not use any character stats to calculate damage. The damage calculation is (4 + skill level).

Luck is not used right now, but it may be used for critical hits and possibly crafting success later on.

Don't expect too much depth from the skills and stats just yet, all of it will change once we start balancing the game for real. smile
